I was in need of a vet quickly, as I was newly relocated to Berkeley Ca. Modern Vet has been on point! I’ve had two visits to this clinic and am very impressed- efficient, kind, KNOWLEDGEABLE and very prepared. The ease of navigation of appointments, messages, availability etc, is stellar. I’ve seen two vets here and they were both great. What a relief to have found my fur baby’s doctor(s).

Huge thank you to Dr. Dianicia Valencia and the team for taking such good care of Ben today. I was honestly very stressed and worried when his dew claw injury suddenly became worse, especially after already bringing him in the week before. What I appreciated most was not only the care for Ben, but also the kindness and understanding toward my financial situation. The doctor took the time to explain every recommendation clearly, never pressured me, and helped work with me to find a treatment option that was still safe for Ben while being more affordable. As a pet owner, that level of compassion means a lot. Veterinary emergencies can be overwhelming, and being treated with patience and understanding made the entire experience so much less stressful. Ben may have been a little dramatic today 😂 but he came home safe, cared for, and already acting like himself again (especially after snacks). Thank you again for your kindness, honesty, and for truly caring about both your patients and their owners. We really appreciate you so much.

Absolutely, incredible place after first visit, This will be his new primary veterinarian. outstanding place They go above and beyond to make it all special from custom hand written welcome signs Charley had a great time. I had to get lab work done and a bunch of other concerns me everything is a great flat rate which are on the website. From the entry to being in a personal room, it’s just like going to the doctors for humans you get to talk to a nurse, And then talk to the doctor. They don’t upsell you on anything and we’re very open to hearing my concerns and very open all together for Charley. Absolutely amazing experience, They did everything in the signed private room with me in there and was a great experience for Charley. I highly recommend this place. I had enjoyed my first experience there and already got my mom to book an appointment with our other pup. It provides a peace of mind, knowing there’s no extreme costs and it makes it stress free for me and for Charley the nurses are absolutely great with animals. 💙 Blair was our main nurse & Wayne was our veterinarian.

Adri was delightful. She had a calming and grounded presence that made Jax and I very comfortable, especially important since he was getting a shot. The appointment was quick and virtually painless. Definitely recommend.

Excellent experience! My cat, Jack, had a routine wellness exam, and everything went smoothly. The veterinarian was kind, thorough, and took the time to answer my questions. The staff was friendly and efficient, and it was obvious they truly care about their patients. I appreciate the excellent care my cat received and highly recommend this clinic.

We are very picky pet owners for veterinarian care. We often experience clinical overspeak where the first discussion is about separating you from your paycheck before assessing any medical matter - regardless of problems exist. Modern Animal is not like this. We’vebeen to two different Modern Animal locations and experienced the same very special care with two different pets. For the first time we felt relief that someone actually meant the best for our fur babies. Easy to use app to transfer medical records, track appointments for different pets, follow medical results, request service, etc. We found them for our new puppy and they helped us say goodbye to our oldest 18 year old boy. I can’t say thank you enough for listening to us, being there at the beginning for Andy, and again, at the end for MoMo. Thank you for putting our minds at ease.

We were late because dad can't read a calendar. They still squeezed us in. I thought that was cool. The wait was short and they took great care of my doggo. They explained all the charges in detail before I agreed to treatment. Overall I found our new vet.

I'm so impressed with this clinic. They were able to get me in the very next morning. I appreciated the cleanliness and kindness of staff. Vet was very thorough. I am especially pleased with their portal. Usually portals are SO fussy and this one is great! Also their communication is OFF THE HOOK! Very appreciated, as I didn't just feel like a number! I've found my vet home for when I'm in Nor Cal!

There are so many different options for veterinarians when you’re in Berkeley, I did a ton of research before eventually deciding on modern animal. From the very beginning, it was just an incredible experience. Everyone in there was so kind, so knowledgeable, and made me and my cat feel very very at peace. Dr. Valencia & her staff were so patient and caring & answered any questions I had. Highly recommend.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. My family rescued a kitten 3 weeks ago that was left for dead in the middle of the street. She was half a pound in weight and about 4 weeks old the Dr told us. We've brought her in for checkups and given her the medicine the Dr prescribed, fed her and given other treatments. Now she's almost 2 pounds and doing much better. Still has some medical issues that might affect her later but basically she's a bouncy baby kitten.
